It started out as a lighthearted documentary of Sebastien the tabby and Jolla the tuxedo, two kittens which we fostered and adopted. It was a happy time of endless entertainment watching them running and playing around the flat, and begging for cuddles in return of being loved. Unfortunately, Sebastien developed Feline Infectious Peritonitis, a cat specific coronavirus which attacks the cells of the intestinal wall a few months later. At first we thought he was just being a picky eater since he was very selective about food he ate but once he stopped eating his favorite fish can, we knew something was wrong. He gradually stopped playing with us and my wife and I noticed his abdomen swelling. Those signs set off an alarm since we recently lost another kitten last summer who also displayed similar symptoms. Sadly, once we realized he was diagnosed, we had no choice than to put him down to relieve him of the pain he was experiencing. He passed away with us by his side in January 2019, just two months before his first birthday. After his death, it has been a very difficult task to go through his photos since at the end it always brings me teary eyed and upset knowing that there was nothing we could do to save him. It's been an emotional ride but I've decided to show the photos of him in a collection when he was the healthiest and happiest, which is how I want to remember him. Fortunately, Jolla is still with us to this day, demanding hugs and to be played with every time I arrive home from work.
The photos where taken between the end of August and the end of September 2018, when Sebastien was still a healthy and happy sacredy-kitten.
